Lovelies

Marisha wanted some nice shots of herself and her cousin for her hair styling business. Needless to say, when they arrived for the shoot I was pleasantly surprised with the model “attitude” they brought with them! Fantastic shots…my favorite…”Fire and ice.”

Jessica

Last night I photographed Jessica and Cody’s wedding, so I can finally post her bridal portraits. We headed to the Centenary College campus for a variety of shots on an overcast but fairly hot evening.

Lindsey

Lindsey is a local musician who was looking for CD art and headshots so we headed to some spots around town to get shots on a great overcast day and nice clorful sunset…mission accomplished.

Lauryn and Lance

A nice backyard engagement party turned into a nicely-executed surprise wedding for Lauryn and Lance at their Nacogdoches home. Family and friends were surprised when the announcement was made and the bridal party (who were also surprised and hurried into wedding attire) came strolling out minutes later to witness the union of the two on [...]

Tiffany and Richard

Tiffany and Richard were married at a cool little wedding spot in Carrollton, Texas. Lots of family and friends celebrated the union. We got some nice shots and great looking portraits in a spot I’ve never been but offered plenty of great backdrops. Congratulations to the newlyweds.

First time for everything

I’ve never shot maternity photos before. Not because I didnt want to…I just wasnt ever asked before. Jennifer changed that with a phone call. She managed to endure the heat long enough for us to get some keepers. Congratulations on the little man on the way!

Christine and Lee

The couple will be hitched soon enough, but in anticipation, we visited some downtown locations for their engagement portraits. Congratulations!

Meagan and Eddie

It took me awhile to get them done, but I finally finished editing Meagan and Eddies wedding photos…there were over 1000 after getting rid of duplicates, out-of-focus and plain ol’ ugly shots. It was a great night for all with plenty of dancing food and drinks for everyone. Congratulations to them both!

Art of the Silhouette

I try to use them sparingly, but a silhouetted photo can make a profound statement. It lends a feeling of anonymity, mystery and drama. You can show something that might not be possible in full detail. These images were taken in the first half of 2010 on assignments at my job as a photojournalist. From [...]

Athletes of the Year

Man…do I LOVE it when I get to use some nice puffy clouds in a photo. We dont get a lot of clouds like that here in Louisiana. Mostly just plain hot days and nothing but blue sky. Here we have the athletes of the year I shot for the day gig.
DeAngelo Brooks

Pam Lee

Dancing machine

Josh is apparently quite the machine in the dancing world…it was a task just getting him scheduled for his session since he practices everyday. But we finally got together for some head shots and dance poses and took advantage of a great day for lighting and even a rare sunset. I couldn’t be happier.

Cherika!

Tried out some new locations around town with Cherika who came in from the Longview, TX. area.

Hollye-Faye and Frank

Very cool wedding. Celtic tradition. Jewish tradition. Traditional tradition…in a universalist church. Elegant reception. Fun, laid-back couple. Mazel tov!

Hollye-Faye’s Bridal Session

Cool locations. Gorgeous dress. Sweet locations. Super-cool bride. Hollye-Faye and her mother and I headed into downtown for her bridal portraits. We made use of quite a few spots I dont normally get to shoot whether it’s because of the bride or because of the time of year or time limitations or whatever the case [...]

Meagan

Engagement portraits. Check. Bridals. Check. Only the big day left to photograph. Congratulations to Eddie and Meagan.

Round Two for Leslie’s Bridals

Leslie had some bridals done one already, but wasn’t quite satisfied, so she asked me to do some for her again. Add a cool vintage looking dress and balloons and it’s a recipe for success.

Daulton

More senior photos with Daulton. Mom has called for Daulton several times since our shoot, so I know he’s anxious to see them, so here’s your sneak peek while you wait for the rest buddy!

Cassidy and Anders

Wow! What a wedding…this was an occasion…a shindig…one big party! I traveled to Dallas to photograph my friends getting married. Four 4gig memory cards and seven or eight hours later I was glad I did. Everyone had a fantastic time dancing, eating, drinking and enjoying company…did I say drinking? The couple even had cool koozies [...]

Tiffany

I traveled to Dallas to photograph Tiffany’s bridals. She selected the McKinney Cotton Mill and I’m glad she did. That place is a gold mine for photographing! We could have spent several more hours there shooting, but I’m pretty happy with what we left with nonetheless.

Judith and Kevin

A fun laid-back couple who got married at Savoie’s in Shreveport. They had a lot of fun at the ceremony and reception and I especially liked Kevin’s Chuck Taylor’s…very cool.

Dirtfoot Revisited

Not too long ago I shared a shot I did of local musicians Dirtfoot. We had a blast at the shoot and they were willing to do whatever I asked and had plenty of ideas of their own. Recently we got together again for a project I was working on for the newspaper. I procrastinated [...]

Jill & Chris

The two were joined at the American Rose Center on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. I love a good outdoor day wedding! Makes for good photos…and less work of course. Congratulations to the newlyweds who I know are back from Mexico and anxious to have their photos!

Marcella

More senior photos…this time of Marcella…17! Thanks to Marcella and her mother for scouting out locations the weekend before and adding to my arsenal of cool spots…another old parking garage! We took advantage of the cool and overcast day and particular advantage of the wind which whipped Marcella’s hair around and really added to the [...]

Kiddies

Ah the power of Facebook. Kristiane and I have been Facebook friends for awhile now, but had only actually met once. We simply had some friends and acquaintances who all dig the mountain bike scene. Sher recently returned to Shreveort from Colorado and we took a couple of hours to shoot the kids. And I [...]

Hollye-Faye and Frank

The three of us ventured into downtown Shreveport at dusk for some engagement portraits and let it get dark while we shot. It made for some different looks that I’m pretty pleased with. Thanks to a great couple with a “whatever” attitude when I suggest we try something. And even more thanks for good ideas! [...]

Mr. & Mrs. Anderson

I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Joel Anderson and Melinda Williams at ArtSpace in downtown Shreveport. It was a fantastic event with poetry, good friends and family, food and a lot of dancing. I meant to ask the couple if they had a song list from the evening because I couldnt help [...]

Jessica’s Bridals

Another trip to some of my local regular favorite locations for some bridal portraits with Jessica. Actually, Jessica had a few locations she has seen me use she wanted to try, including the infamous blue wall. I like using it, but so do several other photogs, so I went for something a little different this [...]

Hali

This girl gets it…
Cool clothes + attitude = great photos!
Hali truly made my job difficult…I shot so many great photos of her it was really difficult to get them edited and even harder picking a select few for the blog. She and her mom brought several changes of clothes, a list of ideas and the [...]

Lauren’s Senior Photos

I often get asked if I do senior photos. Sure. Why not? Let’s just say I do my style of photography and if the subject just happens to be a senior in high school, then yes, I do senior pics. Here we have Lauren…a natural.

Jill’s Bridals

Jill said she did a lot of theater and she wanted to do her bridal portraits at The Strand Theatre in downtown Shreveport. Ok by me because that’s one cool building. They gave us two hours to shoot inside…needless to say we had to be reminded when it was time to be on our way. [...]

Meagan and Eddie

These two get it. Cool clothes and some attitude. Not to mention the willingness to just give it a try. The two came with an idea of what they wanted, a list of what they wanted to try, and the willingness to add to it!

Cassidy and Anders

Good friends Cassidy and Anders came into town from Dallas for their engagement portraits. We went to a few of my favorite locations for some shots in natural light as well as my specialty, lighting! They came out nice.

NBA All-Star Game

Apparently, the NBA All-Star Game is the place to be seen…
Gabrielle Union, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Common, Chris Tucker, Ludacris, P. Diddy, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Spike Lee, Shaq, Bill Russell, Magic…those are just some of the names I saw from my spot on the floor. The NBA truly knows how to put on a show. For all [...]
