I try to use them sparingly, but a silhouetted photo can make a profound statement. It lends a feeling of anonymity, mystery and drama. You can show something that might not be possible in full detail. These images were taken in the first half of 2010 on assignments at my job as a photojournalist. From the garden to a fatality to 10,000 feet in the air, a silhouette can give a photograph a completely new dimension.
